Mcallister Nursing & Rehab is currently seeking a full-time Registered Nurse (RN). This position is responsible for the provision and the supervision of medical and personal care services in assigned area, to attain or maintain the highest practicable mental and psychosocial well-being in accordance with the comprehensive assessment and plan of care. These services are consistent with the Home's standards and philosophy and are in compliance with all regulations, codes, policies and procedures that govern the facility. At the present time we are looking for a compassionate and dedicated full-time Registered Nurse to work on the 7a.m.- 3:30p.m. shift.
 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

• Daily observation of assigned Residents with ability to recognize and report change in status/condition.
• Timely reporting of changes in Residents status or condition to Director of Nursing or her designee.
• Notification of physician and or responsible party regarding Resident status as indicated or directed by Director of Nursing or her designee.
• Assist Resident with issues related to psychosocial needs, i.e. aging and health changes/illness, loss and grief.
• Administration of prescribed medications/treatment with accurate and timely documentation, being in compliance with policies/procedures.
• Respond calmly and quickly to Resident and employee emergencies, report to Director of Nursing or her designee.
• Accurately and timely transcribe of physician orders.
• Participate in the comprehensive Resident assessment update the plan of care in a timely manner to assure its accuracy and appropriateness.
• Involvement with and assistance with Physician visits to the Home.
• Assist with orientation of Nursing Assistants or select nursing personnel as indicated.
• Supervision and follow up of Nursing Assistant care and assignments.
• Participate in the evaluation of Nursing Assistants as indicated.
• Report any observed or reported Nursing Assistant issues to Director of Nursing or her designee.
• Assure follow up on unit of rehabilitation/restorative measures.
• Communicate all pertinent Resident care information to Nursing Assistants, Nursing Staff, and Nursing Supervisor daily.
• Communicate with family/responsible party regarding Resident issues/status as indicated.
• Accurately and timely document, including but not limited to accident/incident reports, admission/readmission, discharges, changes in Residents conditions/status.
• Monitor medical supplies and equipment to assure safety and adequacy of care is given. Strive for optimal use of supplies, materials, keeping in mind cost and budget limitations.
• Maintain confidentiality of all Resident, departmental and organizational information. Demonstrate behavior that is consistent with Resident rights.
• Work effectively and cooperatively as a team member within Department and with all departments or other disciplines.
• Observe dress and conduct codes, including wearing identification badge.
• Meet attendance standards as established and provide proper notice of absence.
• Complete duties in prescribed time
• Follow all safety, security, infection/exposure control and hazardous waste policies and procedures (including Category I universal precautions).
• Attend in services and department meetings to continually refine clinical skills.
• Demonstrate flexibility with schedule to meet needs of the Nursing Department.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
